Search for New Chief of Police

The City of Lincoln has opened a search for its next Chief of Police. The incumbent Chief is retiring effective March 15, 2010. A copy of the job description is available here or at the City Clerk's office in City Hall.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a cover letter expressing their interest in the position, a resume, and at least three professional references. Application packages may be submitted to:

Chief of PoliceOn Monday, May 7, 2007, the Mayor and Lincoln City Council approved Illinois State Police Retired Lieutenant Stuart Erlenbush as the Police Chief for the City of Lincoln. 

The Lincoln Police Department has undergone significant changes over the last year to better safeguard the citizens of Lincoln.

Chief Erlenbush requested Sergeant Michael Geriets to be appointed Deputy Chief on February 4, 2008, which was approved by the Lincoln City Council. Chief Erlenbush and Deputy Chief Geriets continue to improve the department and will work diligently with the community of Lincoln.
