The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) investigates major crimes committed in the Lincoln Area. We currently have two full time sergeants assigned to general investigations and one full time officer assigned to narcotic investigations. If you have any questions or have any investigative leads that a detective needs to know, please contact them.
You can also submit a tip using the online Crime Tip form. This information will be emailed to an investigator.
Crimes are committed everyday and there is always someone that may have information about a crime in our community. If you do not want to reveal yourself, do to personal reasons, please contact Crimestoppers to give information anonymously. Any information that you may have could be very beneficial to an investigation and could help to solve a crime and make our community safer.

The Lincoln Police Department now utilizes Appriss for collecting traffic crash information and submitting to the State of Illinois. Appriss provides BuyCrash.com for those involved with the crash to receive copies of reports.
