Patrol

Our Patrol Division consists of 20 sworn officers.

New Patrol CarThese officers use several unmarked police cars and marked police cars to patrol. These vehicles consist of Ford Interceptors, Dodge Chargers, Dodge Ram Pickup, and Ford Explorers. The Department has been transitioning to 4-wheel drive vehicles due to inclement weather like snow and heavy rains.

Most of our vehicles are equipped with Video Cameras, RADAR, and Mobile Data Computers. We have been transitioning to tablet computers as traditional ruggedized laptops are large and more expensive.

Our mobile data computers are connected to a statewide system implemented by the Illinois Central Management Services called the Illinois Wireless Information Network(IWIN). We also utilize Appriss AVRS program in the car for crash reporting to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Our patrol officers are trained in several areas, but being a small department each of our officers take on specialized duties to help further services to our citizens. For example, we have two officers that participate in Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education (DARE) and teach in our schools. We also have officers that take care of our fleet of vehicles and some that due specialized training in weapons and tactics.

Our patrol force is always available and we always have a police officer available for calls in the Lincoln Area. Please call (217)732-2151 if you have a request for any law enforcement service.
