From IDOT: Springfield - The Illinois Department of Transportation announces the upcoming project for the complete reconstruction of the bridge carrying business loop 55 over Salt Creek at the south edge of Lincoln, IL. The work in this project consists of removing the existing bridge and building a new bridge under a road closure. The business loop will close on March 1, 2014 and is scheduled to reopen on November 15, 2014. Marked detour routes will be utilized with this project. In addition to the bridge replacement this project will consist of reconstruction of the approaches to the bridge, hot mix asphalt paving, drainage improvements and the construction of a parking lot and drainage pond for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

The project is scheduled to be completed November 15, 2014.

The contractor on this $12,021,757.81 project is Halverson Construction Company of Springfield, IL.

Motorist are urged to slow down and be cautious while driving through all work zones.
