Chief of Police Paul Adams, with the advice and consent of the Lincoln City Council, appointed Detective/Sergeant Matthew Vlahovich as the new Deputy Chief of Police. Deputy Chief Vlahovich started his law enforcement career with the Logan County Sheriff's Office. He started with the Lincoln Police Department in 2005 and worked his way up through the ranks to Sergeant. Vlahovich served as the President of the local Fraternal Order of Police union and was President of the Lincoln Police Pension Board.
Vlahovich is a local native attending Carroll Catholic School and Lincoln Community High School. He also graduated with an associates degree from Lincoln College.
Deputy Chief Vlahovich will assist the Chief of Police in driving forward the professionalism of the Lincoln Police Department while also helping engage officers the community with new and progressive programs and initiatives.
